Is Homeschooling right for me?

As another school year draws near, for so many, it comes with a lot of questions! This might be your first year homeschooling or maybe you feel like your homeschool journey is coming to an end. So you may be asking yourself “Is homeschooling right for me?” I wish so badly I could give you the answer to that question! But, the only person who can truly answer this is you!

Since I can’t tell you what you should or shouldn’t do, I will do my best to help guide and encourage you, no matter what you may choose.

Find YOUR why!

Of course, I could list all the pros and cons of Homeschooling vs. Public schooling. Unfortunately, that isn’t entirely helpful because those lists don’t apply to everyone and those lists are constantly changing as our children grow. And those lists would contain MY reasons. So my advice is find YOUR why? Make YOUR list. Why do you want to homeschool? Why do you want to send your child to public school? What led you to contemplating this decision?

Education should be a choice!

Here at the Local Homeschool Hub we believe in having a choice in your child’s education. We believe education is not a one size fits all and we believe that sometimes things are only meant for a season.

We DON’T believe any parent should be shamed for their educational choice.

When it comes to our children and ensuring they are happy, healthy and well adjusted, the decisions don’t always come easy. We want the absolute best for them and what works for one, might not work for another. This year as you weigh all the options and talk with friends and family, I encourage you to include your children in these discussions. As the parent it’s obviously up to you when the final decision is made, but having their input is important in determining what is right for your family.

I would also like to remind you, educational methods are a choice that do not have to be permanent. Children are constantly growing and changing and with these changes, comes different needs. Adapting to your child’s growth is what will make them soar! So give yourself a break from the heaviness you are carrying. You love your child! You are their biggest supporter and fiercest protector! You will not fail them!
