Parks In and Around Delaware County, Indiana
There are several great parks in and around Delaware County, Indiana as well as throughout East Central Indiana. Below we have highlighted some of our favorites for us and other homeschool families. When available we have provided links to the park information sites as well as detailed available amenities. If there is a great one we are missing, please let us know!
Burris Backyard:
We love Burris Backyard. It is probably our favorite park at the moment and has a really good playground for a lot of imaginative play. Burris Backyard is part of the Burris School, so you can only use it when school isn’t in session. There are not any bathroom facilities close by, so plan accordingly.

Daleville Town Hall Park
This is a great park. It has 2 playgrounds with one being geared more toward younger kids. It also has a splash pad with bathroom facilities and even a concession stand during the summer months.

Halteman Park and Splash Pad
This park is a bit more off the beaten path. It is a neighborhood park in Halteman Village. There is a good playground with a small splash pad and a shelter. There are bathrooms on site, but last time we were there they were locked, so plan accordingly.

Lions Club Park – Yorktown
This park is located just across the walking bridge behind Morrow’s Meadow and Pizza King in Yorktown.
