Sarah Wenger
Hi, I’m Sarah, half of the two woman team here at The Local Homeschool Hub. I am a Midwest raised pastor’s kid that grew up to be an adult ICU nurse and marry a wonderful man.
About Sarah
After almost a decade in the ICU I decided it was time to step away so I could support my husband in his business endeavors and also enjoy focusing on our long-awaited daughter.
To be honest, although we toyed with the idea of homeschooling early on, I always had the thought that we would find a good school for our daughter to attend. And we did. But then the world was turned upside down with its response to a virus.
The great school we chose suddenly became less than ideal as kids were placed behind plexi-glass for “safe-keeping” and told to wear masks and get shots or else they would die. Trusted administrators began questioning second graders on their vaccine status and peers tattled on each other for not wearing their mask outside during recess. This shame and fear was promoted well after the time when it became evident that covid was not a significant threat to children.
As if that wasn’t enough, somewhere in all that craziness society decided that 2+2 no longer equaled 4 and that truth and facts are really just ideas and concepts that can shift as quickly as the weather in Indiana. It started to feel like everyday when we picked our daughter up from school we would spend the rest of the day deprogramming her of all the propaganda pushed into her fragile and pliable mind.
Finally enough was enough and we decided that if we wanted to have a healthy, well adjusted kid that would grow into a healthy, responsible, critical thinking adult, then we couldn’t risk outsourcing her education any longer. And that was when the foundations behind The Local Homeschool Hub were made. The rest, as they say, was history.
