There are several great opportunities for summer camps in Delaware County, Indiana this year. Below are a list. We will be adding to these as registrations become available.

General Summer Camps

  • Boys and Girls Club of Muncie
    • Multiple Weeks available starting June 12th
    • Elementary: Pre-K-4th
    • Teens: 5th Grade and Up
  • Camp Lead, Inc 
    • Camp Lead Inc. is open to all school-aged children. Camp runs Monday through Thursday, June 3- July 25, 2024 (with the week of July 4 excluded to honor the holiday) from 8:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., with latchkey hours offered from 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (for $10 per day per child). Children are expected to be dropped off between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. and to be picked up between 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • TerraTime
      • Multiple dates available beginning June 3rd
      • Ages: Pre-K to Elementary (4-11 years old) and pre-teen/middles school (10-14)
      • Outdoor classroom
      • Each day has a theme that is woven through each play prompt, loose parts, and materials. Children use natural and man-made materials to create, explore, and problem solve.
  • YMCA Day Camp
    • Dates: June 3rd-July 26th
    • Ages: K-5th

Academic Summer Camps

  • Creative Writing Camp
    • Dates: June 17-28
    • IWP summer writing camps are FREE, but they only have 30 spots available at each age group.
    • Camps are held on Ball State’s beautiful campus, taught by experienced and licensed English teachers. Encourage your young writer’s love for writing!
  • Indiana Academy Summer Adventures Camp
    • Dates: June 10-14
    • Ages: 6th-8th grade and 9th-10th grade
    • Science, Math and Humanities
  • Motivate Our Minds
    • Dates: June 5-July 3
    • Grades 1st-8th
    • Hosted at Longfellow Elementary School
  • Ross Community Center: 2024 Reading Camp
      • Dates: June 10th-13th
      • Ages: 5-10
      • Featuring: The Magic Treehouse Book 1: Dinosaurs After Dark
      • Activities: Reading through the book with art and science project related to what was read.
  • Techwise
    • Multiple dates and camp options beginning June 10th
    • Coding and First Lego League
    • Ages: 1st-3rd, 3rd-5th, 4th-6th & 6th-8th
  • Young Mathematicians X-ploration Camp
    • Dates: June 24-28
    • Ages: Grades 4th-9th (currently for 2023 school year) Students from Muncie Community Schools, Inspire Academy and Burris. NOTE: Students from other schools may register, though priority will be given to MCS, Burris, and Inspire students.
    • During this FREE week-long camp, attendees will use mathematics as a tool to explore, to model, and to analyze engaging real-world situations. Investigations will include topics such as statistics (data collection and analysis), combinatorics (strategic counting), interdisciplinary explorations (e.g., civics and math), community explorations, and more.

Art Related Summer Camps

  • Camp Minnetrista: Culinary Skills
    • Dates: June 10th-14th
    • Ages: 12-14
    • Attention, aspiring young chefs! Grab your aprons and get ready to dive into the kitchen in our upper-level summer camp. Campers will whip up exciting new recipes, hone their skills with kitchen appliances, and explore techniques to expand their culinary palates.

      • Friday: Chili Cook-off

  • Camp Minnetrista: Glass Artists Camp
    • Dates: June 24th-28th
    • Ages: 12-14
    • It’s a blast with glass! From grinding to working with kilns, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in every aspect of this captivating craft. Wrap up camp with a celebratory art show on Friday, from 1:30–2 p.m. in Hackley Gallery.
  • Camp Minnetrista: Jr Chefs
    • Dates: June 3rd-7th
    • Ages: 9-11
    • Campers will learn to follow recipes, experiment with kitchen appliances, and broaden their culinary skills! The fun will include a cook-off where teams showcase their new skills and receive feedback from a professional chef on Minnetrista’s hospitality team.
  • Happy Accidents Art Studio
    • Multiple camp options available beginning June 3rd
    • Ceramics camps, Sand art, Pet Paloooza and more!
    • New this year: “Miniature Monday”
      • Campers will make a mini house, mini furniture, mini plants/playground and mini food/pets
  • Premiere Dance Center
  • Ross Community Center: 2024 Fiber Arts Camp
    • Dates: June 17th-20th
    • Ages: 9-12
    • Kids will learn the basics of punch needle embroidery, stitch embroidery with mixed media and beaded embroidery
  • Ross Community Center: 2024 Printmaking Camp 
    • Dates: June 3rd-7th
    • Ages: 9-12
    • Activities: Styrofoam printmaking: “build your city”, multi-layer gel printing, screen printing: drawing fluid & screen fill, bubble printing
  • YSOECI Summer Strings Camp at Ross Center 2024
    • Dates: June 24th-28th
    • This camp will offer beginning violin and cello instruction, as well as an intermediate string orchestra experience. All children participating in morning classes will be scheduled for a Folk Dance or Improvisation class each day.

Sports Related Summer Camps

  • Dusty Acres Summer Camp
    • Multiple weeks available starting June 3rd

    • Learn about horse care, English riding, Western riding, Bareback riding, tack and barn maintenance, horsemanship; will also have swimming, games, crafts & snacks
  • Mega Sports Camp – Glad Tidings North
    • Dates: June 24-28
    • Time: 5:30-8:30 pm
    • Kids choose between Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cooking, Robotics, or Soccer
    • Ages: K to 6th grade
    • Pre-K Camp Also available for 3-5 year olds that are potty trained
  • Mega Sports Camp – Glad Tidings Muncie Campus
    • Dates: July 8-12
    • Time: 9am-12:30

    • This summer camp focuses on fundamentals of fielding, hitting, pitching, and catching.

  • Muncie Sports Commission
    • Ages: 4th-8th Grade
    • Muncie Sports Commission, Muncie YMCA, and Muncie Parks & Recreation are presenting a FREE SUMMER SPORTS CAMP for children in 4th through 8th grade. The camp runs Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Campers will come to one of the three days each week.
    • Each week, campers will have fun learning the basics of seven different sports. The equipment needed for each session will be provided for the campers to use. All campers will receive a backpack, t-shirt, prizes, and snacks.
