The Teaching Parent Connection equips homeschooling parents with more information, better resources and greater opportunities. It is a faith based organization that exists to support and strengthens home educators (the “Teaching Parent”).
They serve all homeschool parents by creating a supportive community for teaching parents in Delaware County and the surrounding area. Their goal is to create opportunities for community such as:
● Communication- Facebook/emails
● Gatherings- social, informational, educational
● Curriculum- learning, books sales
● Social gatherings/parties
● Mentors
● Homeschool 101
● Communication of laws and homeschool changes
● Activities- field trips
● Travel
● Community/sports/dances
The Teaching Parent Connection works hand in hand with Homeschool Meeting Place to provide these resources. At this time they are holding monthly meetings with the intent to provide support, encouragement and skills. Earlier this year they have had guest speaker and author Diana Waring come and talk about The Secret Sauce of Homeschooling. And just this month they hosted a curriculum round table where teaching parents could talk with other homeschoolers about the styles and techniques they use in their own homeschool.
