A university or college can be a great resource for homeschooling families. Many universities and colleges give the option of dual credits to high schoolers. They also generally provide opportunities such as summer camps, museums, theaters, tutors and specialty classes that you might not see in a non-university town.
In Delaware County, Indiana there are a couple of options for higher education.
Ball State University
- Athletic Events
- Bracken Library
- Camps and Workshops
- Charles D. Brown Planetarium
- Dual Credit/Enrollment Program
- David Owsley Museum of Art
- Emens Auditorium
- Festivals
- Homeschool Days and Homeschool Virtual Chats
- Science Day
Ivy Tech Community College
- Dual Credit/Enrollment Program
- Free Summer Classes for High Schoolers
- Ivy Tech for Homeschoolers
- Shafer Library
Of note, when we created the Indiana Homeschool Science Fair, we were contacted by the dual credit/enrollment program at Ivy Tech. They were very helpful in providing a space to hold the fair and judges our first year. Many dual credit/enrollment specialists work very hard to connect with homeschoolers so this is a great place to start when looking for resources.
